In 2021, a new mountainbike park was created on the Cilenca slope, above the Sport and recreational centre Evropark. It offers these four mountainbike trails: Forest Bump (Flow), Jumanji, Super Mario and French Connection. The park covers an area of 16 ha and has 200–230 m of height difference; it takes about 15 min of easy pedalling to access the top (2,5 km), or a bit more if you choose the harder ascent option (5 km). The trails are designed to appease everyone – to have fun and to find a new challenge or two.
Mountainbike park Cilenca Trails is a project by the Cycling club Zagorje Valley which, in cooperation with the local community, built the first pumptrack in Zasavje. Now, with the mountainbike park Cilenca Trail, the area is getting new cycling content, and Zagorje ob Savi is being developed into a cycling destination with the entire necessary infrastructure.
The park will also offer mountainbike courses, workshops for improving riding technique and various other educational activities, while there will also be transport available at the weekends for all those who like descending more and pedalling less. The park will be regularly maintained and upgraded – we have already made several plans for the future, which means that this is only the beginning of the mountainbike story in Zagorje ob Savi.
