Mining Museum Zagorje

In 1995 the engine room of the mining shaft Loke pri Kisovcu (Loke at Kisovec) was redesigned into a small mining museum, and after 20 years, the museum was further redesigned to finally look as it always should. Photographic and documentary material as well as various tools and accessories take visitors through the history of mining and show individual extracts from the work of miners. The story of mining in the municipality Zagorje ob Savi is more than 250 years long and is full of interesting facts and memories carried by retired miners and their families. Mining Museum Zagorje offers a piece of the interesting history of this time that Zagorje experienced and as a mining centre put it on the map of Europe.
