1410 Zagorje ob Savi
One of the most prominent figures from Slovenian lyrical poetry, she published her first poems under the pseudonym Vida Maja when she was still in high school. At first, her hometown of Zagorje inspired socially-charged poems and rebellion in her, while later, her poems became distinctly intimate, full of metaphors of longing and images from dreams.
Her first collection of poems, Veje v vetru (Branches in the Wind), already positioned her among the most prominent faces of Slovenian lyric poetry, and further in collections emotional and physical pain caused her melody to become more stiff, while her poems lost its tenderness and metaphors.
A few years ago, a memorial panel was uncovered at the house in Švepovna, at the Prešernova cesta street.
